How do I chnage UTC to Local Time?

Beitrag von MD0MDI »

Sorry for all the issues but we are setting up for the new DXpedition and we have found another problem, how do we change the Clock (Time) setting from UTC to Local? we need the clock to read the local time and not UTC (GMT) we are -4 Hours.
All the best,

Any chance of a fix for this ???? It would be nice if you could set an off-set.

The guys from the ARRL seem to like the software, but I doubt we will be using it for the DXpedition.

I never heard that any QSO is logged in local time.
If you do so, you can't print useful QSLs or upload to LOTW.
You can't change later all logged times by 4 hours.

But if you want local time in UcxLog, you can change the windows settings for date/time:
- Set time zone GMT +/- 0 hours (not -4)
- Set the windows clock to your local time
Then you get Local Time = UTC.

Again, I can't believe that you really want local time. Also on a DXpedition you use UTC.
And if you want to set your windows to local time then set also the right time zone and you get again the right UTC in UcxLog!

I do need UTC for this event but I cannot find where to put an offset in the software, i.e. I am logging UTC here and it is adding an entry for 8:12am but the time here is 4:12am and thus my log is not correct, in the software that we are using for the event (Star Log) we have the ability to set an offset to UTC so that we can log the correct time, that is why if I could switch to local time it would be better, I cannot change the time on the PC to counter this as it messes up the time stamp on the audio recording software and then the audio and the logs wont tally.

The ability for either a switch in the software to set the local time / UTC / UTC Offset would be VERY handy, it is OK if I am in Europe, but not when i'm abroad!

Windows knows UTC and local time.
If you set it correctly like described before you see the local time on your PC and log with UTC in UcxLog WITHOUT any need of offset time.
This works all over the world and without problems for a lot of DXpeditions !!!
